Ieva Akuratere Concert: The Day Before the Baltic Way
22.08.2026.
On August 22 at 2:00 PM, as part of the Ogre City Festival, a concert by Ieva Akuratere dedicated to the Baltic Way took place at the “Path to Freedom” exhibition.
The concert was organized by the Ogre History and Art Museum in cooperation with the Ogre Culture Center, highlighting the significance of the Baltic Way and the Third Awakening in Latvian history, as well as inviting the public to collectively commemorate the events that shaped the path to the restoration of our country’s independence.
Ieva Akuratere, together with the outstanding guitarist of the band “Pērkons” Leons Sējāns and her son Matīss Akuratere, a virtuoso on various percussion instruments, performed both songs from the Singing Revolution that have already become cultural and historical icons, and Juris Kulakovs’ exciting and powerful compositions in an acoustic version.
As is always the case at Ieva’s concerts, during this meeting everyone united in shared memories and conscious hopes for the future through inspiring songs.
