In honor of Barricades Day, the Ogre History and Art Museum is hosting an event titled “Stories of Barricades Memories”

To honor 1991. Barricades and preserve the memories of defending Latvia’s independence, the Ogre History and Art Museum invites residents and guests to participate in a special event “Stories of the Barricades”.
The event will take place both in Independence Square and in the museum premises at 2 Brivibas Street. In the square, visitors will have the opportunity to view information stands from the Barricades Museum and watch projections about the time of the Barricades. To create an authentic atmosphere, visitors will also be offered porridge and warm tea.
At 2:00 PM in the museum building, the men’s chamber choir Frachori (artistic director Ingus Leilands), Latvian National Opera and Ballet soloist Guntars Ruņģis, and guitarist Jānis Ruņģis will perform. The concert will feature a special program dedicated to Barricades Remembrance Day.
