2017. On May 4, many residents of Ogre and guests of the city witnessed the grand opening of the new building of the Ogre History and Art Museum at Brīvības Street 36, Ogre. For the first time, a fashion show allowed a large audience to simultaneously view the treasures of the Ogre History and Art Museum’s collection – original costumes and accessories from the 1920s-1960s, explore the most hidden corners of the newly opened building under the guidance of director Mārtiņš Eihe, and enjoy the special music provided by vinyl record collector and DJ Kārlis Bardelis.
On this day, we also opened four new exhibitions: “From Bank to Museum”, Ieva Iltnere’s painting exhibition from the Zuzāns Collection, “Summer Residents in Ogre”, and “Cycling to Ogre”.
