On May 4, 2017, many residents of Ogre and city guests witnessed the grand opening of the new building of the Ogre History and Art Museum at Brīvības Street 36, Ogre. For the first time, a fashion show allowed a large audience to view the treasures of the museum’s collection simultaneously – original costumes and accessories from the 1920s–1960s. Visitors could also explore the most hidden corners of the newly opened building under the guidance of director Mārtiņš Eihe and enjoy special music provided by vinyl record collector and DJ Kārlis Bardelis.
On this day, four new exhibitions were also opened: “From Bank to Museum”, Ieva Iltnere’s painting exhibition from the Zuzāns Collection, “Summer Residents in Ogre”, and “Cycling to Ogre”.
