Museum Night takes place annually throughout Europe. That year, under the Latvian Museum Night slogan drawn from Veidenbaums’ words, “Time rushes faster than a wagon wheel”, the Ogre History and Art Museum invited visitors to erase the boundaries of time, forget everyday concerns, and reach for the stars.
Together with StarSpace from Suntaži and the ZINOO curiosity centre, we gazed at the stars, launched paper rockets into the sky, learned what a red sun signifies, and discovered how to make “elephant toothpaste”. The evening concluded with a performance by the alternative music band Ansamblis Manta. In total, around three thousand visitors attended Museum Night.
