A vivid and informative insight into the origins of the Latvian people and language, ancient Baltic cultural roots, and the most prominent expression of modern national culture – the Song and Dance Festival.

The exhibition featured folk costumes from various regions of Latvia, and ethnographic and archaeological objects from the collection of the Ogre History and Art Museum. The exhibition highlighted geometric ornament and its symbolism within the Latvian worldview – identity expressed through costume, patterns and signs that reflect our ancestors’ perception of the world and rhythm of life.

The exhibition was developed in collaboration with the Folk Costume Centre “Senā klēts”.
