A vivid and informative insight into the evidence of the origin of the Latvian people, language, ancient Baltic cultural roots, and the most prominent manifestation of modern national culture — the Song and Dance Festival. The exhibition featured folk costumes from various regions of Latvia, ethnographic and archaeological objects from the collection of the Ogre History and Art Museum. Additionally, significant attention was given to the signs of geometric ornament and their symbolism within the Latvian worldview: the Latvian identity in costumes, patterns, and symbols, which tell of our ancestors’ worldview and rhythm of life. The exhibition was developed in collaboration with the Folk Costume Center “Senā klēts”.
