The exhibition “Ogre 88” featured a selection of photographs taken in 1988 as part of the “One Day in Ogre” campaign. These photos were captured in the former Ogre district, which also encompassed the present-day Ķegums, Ikšķile, and Lielvārde municipalities.

As the country’s centenary approached, we increasingly recalled our parents’ and grandparents’ stories about their childhood and youth, as well as our own experiences in kindergartens and schools. Photographs in family albums serve as documentary evidence of these memories. The exhibition featured photographs that have been preserved in the Ogre History and Art Museum’s collection for nearly 30 years and have gained cultural and historical significance.
